CHS students did a fantastic job

Did you go see the Chester High School production of "Hello, Dolly?" If you did, I'm sure you will agree, the students did a fantastic job. If you didn't, you really missed an evening or afternoon of super entertainment for a reasonable price. I am proud of the students and they are to be commended for their dedication, efforts, and practice sessions to make the production such a success. We must also commend the Directors, Ms. Paul Ray and Mr. Steve Colonel, for their time and efforts in guiding our students to accomplish such an undertaking.
Many students were also behind the scenes with various tasks, and also many community residents contributed their time and talents to assist the students. They all had an important part in the success of the play and are to be commended for stepping forward as needed.
As a former CHS student, I was pleased when CHS initiated the annual play presentations. Back in the 50's, a Junior Class play was held to help raise money for the senior class trips, and many of the classes headed South on a bus to Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. For several years, CHS did not have a staff sponsor to direct the play, so I hope we will see this tradition carried on into the future. Undoubtedly, it is an educational experience the students will long remember, and the community will certainly enjoy the end result.
CONGRATULATIONS to all the participants in "Hello Dolly" and I bet Carol Channing would have been proud of you too!
