Cynthia Jane (Phillips) Seegraves, formerly of Ridgway

Cynthia Jane (Phillips) Seegraves, 70 of Tampa, Florida passed away Friday, April 20, 2018.

She was born in Ridgway on March 19, 1948 to the late Charles Phillips and Tillie (Barnett) Phillips Baker. In 1983 she moved to Florida.

Cynthia was a charter member of St. James UMC for at least 35 years. Every morning with her cup of coffee Cynthia did her devotionals and had started the "Pink Book Devotional Club." She was a volunteer at her church and for the VA hospital and she played piano at Elzey Baptist Church in Otter Creek, Florida. She was always helping others.

Cynthia attended the University of Illinois. After graduation she became a teacher, but her favorite career was being a flight attendant with United Airlines for more than 30 years.

Cynthia's real passion in life was her family and cooking for them, always making fried chicken on Sundays after church. In high school she was Popcorn Queen and Prom Queen. Cynthia loved antique shopping, gardening, going to the beach, especially Anna Maria Island, fishing in Alaska and playing cards.

Cynthia is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Jim Seegraves; son, Cody Seegraves; brother, Scott Phillips and his wife, Judy; sister-in-law, Carlyne Seegraves; niece, Jennifer; nephew, Scott Phillips Jr.; and many cousins and friends.

A memorial service for Cynthia will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Cynthia will be laid to rest with her family in Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway.
