News from Preceptor Alpha Eta
Preceptor Alpha Eta held its October meeting at the home of Judy Kaufman. President Johanna Tolbert called the meeting to order and members recited the Opening Ritual. Fourteen members were present with Barb Croessman and Sharon Childs attending by Zoom.
Roll was called and the minutes from the Sept. 9 meeting were read and approved.
Communication was received from International requesting paid-for-life members to consider becoming Angel Members.
The treasurer's report was given and pecan sales are going well.
Mary Riggio reported for the Service Committee and members are to bring a toy to the November meeting for Toys for Tots. Mary Riggio made a motion and Donna Secrist seconded, to buy 50/50 tickets for the Du Quoin Class of 2025, 8th grade graduation fundraiser.
Social Chairman Toni Haner reminded members to bring their lawn chairs to the wiener roast at the Searby Cabin on Sunday, Oct. 18, weather permitting. The Thanksgiving meal in November will be catered.
Rose Alongi volunteered to host the December meeting since Sharon Childs will be attending by Zoom and will not be hosting the meeting.
Programs were given by Toni Haner on how to clear the chat history in the GroupMe app, and Sharon Childs shared Songs of Hope and Happiness. Johanna Tolbert shared a reading titled Happiness in Hard Times.
The next meeting will be held at the home of Barbara Brock on Nov. 11. It will start at 6:30 p.m. and begin with the Thanksgiving dinner.
The October meeting ended with members reciting the closing ritual. Judy Kaufman and her assistant Kathy Smith served Pumpkin Poke Cake to Rose Alongi, Nora Fann, Toni Haner, Priscilla Craig, Mary Riggio, Joyce Schimpf, Linda Searby, Donna Secrist, Linda Sherman and Johanna Tolbert.
