Mike's Music relocates to the Strip

Also, Plaza Records is returning downtown after a long absence

Longtime Carbondale business Mike’s Music has relocated to 124 S. Illinois Ave., effective this week.

To celebrate, the business will host a grand reopening celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 5. The day will include live music, giveaways and door prizes.

The Mike’s Music move coincides with the grand re-opening of Plaza Records in the nearby Cristaudo's Bakery building, as well as Neon Tiger Tattoo, right next door to Mike's.

Plaza Records is holding a grand re-opening in its new location this Friday, Oct. 4.

The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce will hold a joint ribbon cutting for Mike’s and Neon Tiger Tattoo at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The event will include live music, food from Booby’s and giveaways.

“This move brings great new opportunities for us, and we’re thrilled to celebrate with the community,” Mike’s Music owner Mike Ricci says. “We look forward to connecting with our local musicians and welcoming everyone to our new space.”
