T. Scott Randolph of Sesser, formerly of Hurst
T. Scott Randolph, age 48, of Sesser and formerly of Hurst, passed away at his home in Sesser on June 24, 2022, unexpectedly after routine surgery.
He was born Thomas Scott Randolph in Carbondale on July 18, 1973, the son of James and Elizabeth (Allsup) Randolph. He married Martina Robinson in Chester on May 9, 2019.
Scott was working as a driver for the NAPA retail stores. He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his loving wife, Martina (Robinson) Randolph of Sesser; his daughter, Emma Beaman of Sesser; his godmother, Linda K. Brown of Du Quoin; sister, Sarah (Zane) Holder of Zeigler; brother, John M. King of Du Quoin; and nephews Zach and Nick Holder of Zeigler.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bradley and David Randolph.
It is often difficult to sum up the whole of a person's life in a few short words. It is impossible to do so for Scott. He lived life to the absolute fullest, and did so fearlessly. He tirelessly loved and supported his family each and every day. Because he was the big softy of the house, he also fed the pets too many treats, but that was because he cared for them so much. He gave of himself freely to those he loved and we will never be the same without him.
Scott served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1992 to 1998 and achieved the rank of sergeant. He served in Somalia, Southwest Asia, Jordan and Kuwait. He was also a proud recipient of the Navy Achievement Medal. He possessed a lifelong thirst for knowledge which meant he was typically reading a book, and listening to a podcast and an audiobook at the same time.
He held two college degrees, a bachelor's in history and a certificate in diesel mechanics. His interests included movies, foreign languages, gardening, art, travel, writing and music. Some of his favorite activities were having coffee on the deck in the mornings, rubbing his wife's feet, giving dog haircuts, and co-founding the E&S Wings of Fire Book Club.
His humor, big heart and infectious smile will never be forgotten. He will forever be missed by his family and friends. Above all, he was a loving husband and father whose absence will be felt every day.
Semper Fidelis.
