HerrinFesta Italiana chooses the fest's 2022 grand marshals

HERRIN - HerrinFesta Italiana kicked off Festa - 2022 at the Herrin Chamber Festa Day at The Chamber, April 26.

HerrinFesta President Cris Trapani, said, "Festa has been kind of hard to plan for the past couple of years, (It was sidelined in 2020 and came back in 2021 as a Family Fun Festa) but hopefully we're coming out of it."

Festa Honorees are Peter and Mary Bondioli, Grand Parade Marshals, Mike Murphy, Lifetime Achievement Award, Deborrah Bracy and Evan Collier, BracyInsurance, Corporate Honoree. They will be honored at the Mayor's HerrinFesta Honoree Banquet at the Herrin Civic Center, May 24 at 6 p.m. at The Herrin Civic Center and lead the Grand Festa Parade, May 28 at 11 a.m. in downtown Herrin in one of the largest parades in the region.

This year will feature a free Music Festival Tent in a large covered area on the North Parking Lot of the Civic Center from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. nightly May 27-28-29 featuring popular local and regional bands.

A variety of favorite events will run through the festival. Little Miss and Mr. HerrinFesta and Baby Contest and Pre Teen and Teen Pageant, Miss HerrinFesta Scholarship Pageant, Bocce and Golf Tournaments, Poster Contest, special Italian Mass, Road Races, JALC Festa Tri-Athalon and Car Show at Herrin City Park and much more.

The Festa Planning Committee includes President Cris Trapani, Vice President, Joey Helleny, Kelly Green, Brett Crouse, Nina Helleny, Kevin Frost, Joe Helleny, Tabatha King, Bob Scillufo, Ashley Spiller, Brandon Watson, Evan Youngbood, Cheryl Trench and Frank King, and Executive Secretary, Denise Coffman under the umbrella of The Herrin Chamber of Commerce and in tandem with City of Herrin and Herrin Civic Center.
