Women's Club welcomes senior girls for tea

The Chester Women's Club hosted its annual Chester High School Senior Girls Tea Thursday, April 21, at the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church.

Tables were colorfully decorated with vintage tea pots and fresh carnations. Women's Club members serving on the tea and hostess committees were Tammy Grah, Chairman; Melissa Grah, Co-Chairman; Betty Wagner, Carla Draves, Eleanor Miller, Joan Derringer, Barbara Fricke, Paula Platt and Wanda Dethrow.

Members and guests were served a buffet of sweet and savory delicacies from a table elegantly prepared to resemble an English teatime.

Brenda Owen spoke to those assembled on the subject of Chester's Beautification and Tourism Committee, expounding on the committee's many programs and services to the community. Tammy Grah then presented a Power Point featuring photos of Chester High School graduations and events from 1885 to the present.

After the Chester High School Senior girls departed to return to school, Nikki Aubuchon conducted a brief business meeting.

The club's final meeting of the season will be the annual May Luncheon at noon Friday, May 20 at the FUMC fellowship hall. Activities will include the presentation of the Woman of the Year Award, a memorial service for deceased members and an installation of officers.

Tickets for the luncheon are $15 and are available by contacting Aubuchon.

The following slate of incoming officers was announced and duly elected: President, Barb Fricke; First Vice President, Nikki Aubuchon; Second Vice President, Melissa Gross; Recording Secretary, Joyce McGee; Treasurer, Chris Bowles; and Corresponding Secretary, Cathy Sauer.
