Red Bud man dies in crash

According to the Randolph County Sheriff's office, a Red Bud man died Thursday, April 21, after a single-vehicle accident on Route 3 at Dew Drop Landing in Evansville.

Arkell L. Litton, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene; he was the sole occupant of the Chrysler PT Cruiser.

According to the sheriff's department release, the PT Cruiser appeared to be traveling northbound on Route 3 around 6 a.m. Thursday.

It then veered off the right shoulder, skidded across a gravel parking lot, struck the left rear wheel of a CASE front loader, then struck the rear of a John Deere grader.

The accident is being investigated by the Randolph County Coroner's office and the Randolph County Sheriff's office.
