Rozella May Dickey of Tamaroa

Rozella May Dickey, age 84, of Tamaroa, passed away peacefully at 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Fairview Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Du Quoin.

Rozella was born in Christopher on Feb. 26, 1938, the daughter of Kattie (Dell White) and Jess Willard White. She married Ernest Leroy Dickey in Sesser on Dec. 24, 1954, at the young age of 16. Together, they have shared more than 67 years of marriage and precious memories. He survives.

Mrs. Dickey lived her life as a loving homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Dickey of Tamaroa; sons Dennis (Sarah) Dickey of Sesser and Mike (Desiree) Dickey of Belleville; seven grandchildren, David Dasher of Belleville; Chandra Dane (Jeremy Howard) of Centralia, Paige Dickey (Russell Arndt) of Marion, Katie (Josh) Gass of Fairview Heights, Michaela Dickey (Jake Stafford) of St. Louis, Corey Dickey and Wesley Dickey, both of Panama City, Florida; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, Amon and Marilyn White of Metropolis, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robbie Dickey; a brother, Jess White Jr.; and a grandson, Justin Dickey.

Memorial services to celebrate Rozella's life will be held at a later date.
