Larry Moore of Marion
Larry Dean Moore, 85, of Marion, Illinois passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 4, 2022.
Larry was born, at home in Marion, on August 15, 1936, the son of Charles Moore and Verna (Harris) Moore.
After high school Larry attended Monmouth University and received a degree in chemistry. He then attended St. Louis College of Pharmacy and received his pharmacy degree. He owned and operated Marion Medical Pharmacy in the doctor's clinic on Cherry Street in Marion for many years.
Larry married Ann Moore on June 19, 1984, and together they shared 38 years of a wonderful marriage.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and raising Labrador Retrievers and training them for field trials. Larry was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Marion, where he served as a deacon until the church closure.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Moore; his daughter and son- in- law, Carrie and Tony Bourdow of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Monica Mayer of Lubbock, Texas; his grandchildren, Tyler Mayer, Jenna Haworth, Emily and Darryl Pappin, and Nicholas Bourdow; his great grandchildren, Theo and Abby Haworth; his sister, Sue Bernhard; his nephews and nieces, Dr. Jack and Sue Keller, Jerry and Jamie Keller, Tammie and Logan Anderson, Dr. Brad and Dr. Kathy Bernhard, Tracy and David Curry, and Jennifer and Joe Becker.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Verna Moore; his son Mark Moore, his sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Bob Keller; and his bother-in-law, Ronald Bernhard.
There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 W. Boulevard Street, Marion, Illinois.
Funeral Services will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor John Holst officiating. Private burial will be at Fountain Cemetery at a later time.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be directed to the Zion United Church of Christ.
