Randolph County Briefs: Kaskaskia Eagle Fest rescheduled; preschool screenings

<b>Kaskaskia Eagle Fest rescheduled</b>

The rescheduled 2022 Eagle Fest will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam in Modoc, 4800 Lock and Dam Road.

The day will include eagle-watching with spotting scopes, feathered friends from the World Bird Sanctuary at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., wildlife presentations by Animology at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Lock and Dam tours. Viewing of an eagle's nest with a mated pair of eagles will be available throughout the day. Food will be available from local vendors. This event is free; families and leash-trained dogs welcome.

<b>Preschool screenings are March 22</b>

Chester Grade School will be holding a Pre-K preschool screening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the Chester Grade School gym. Call (618) 826-2354 to make an appointment. Free infant/toddler screenings are available. Please bring your child's birth certificate.

<b>Chester Rec League fan gear on sale</b>

Chester Rec League fan gear is available through March 16. T-shirts, visors, tanks and hats can be ordered at chesterrecball.itemorder.com. Orders will be delivered to the Rec League director by April 6.

The Rec League is still looking for volunteer coaches for softball, T-ball and toddler T-ball teams. Some teams will not be able to be offered without enough volunteers. Contact the Recreation Department if you can help the kids.
