Elks spread a little merry to local vets

Harrisburg Elks Lodge #1058 distributed 49 Christmas gift bags to veterans in local Senior Care facilities last year.

The bags were delivered to Shawnee Rose, Hollybrook, Brookstone and three Saline Care homes (Harrisburg, Eldorado and Carrier Mills).

Each package contained a blanket throw, skid-free socks, scarf, toboggan, puzzle book with pen, snacks and hygiene products.

This is the second consecutive year the Elks have been able to extend Christmas gifts, with thanks and gratitude to local veterans, and the club intends to make it an annual event.
