Billie Dean 'Bill' Leonberger of Rosiclare

Billie Dean "Bill" Leonberger, 88, of Rosiclare, Illinois, passed away on Jan. 26, 2022 at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, the principal and teacher at Rosiclare High School, Dean Of Students at Hardin County High School and the Education Administrator at the Vienna Correctional Center, Shawnee Correctional Center and Hardin County Work Camp until his retirement in 1995.

Bill received his teaching degree from Bethel College and his Master's Degree from Murray State University in Kentucky.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Leonberger of Rosiclare; daughters, Lynn Cowsert of Elizabethtown, Illinois, Tina (Jimmy) Mabrey-Smock of Herod, Illinois and Leighann Quinlan of Rosiclare; grandchildren, Jay, Tyler (Kendal), Aundrea (Jeremy), Travis (Jayna), Abby, Keely and Conor; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Eli, Jack, Addie and Bo. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Melita Leonberger; and sons-in-law Steven Cowsert and Tony Mabrey.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Hardin County Funeral Service in Rosiclare is in charge of arrangements.
