Mary Ella Wroton O'Neill, formerly of Harrisburg

Mary Ella Wroton O'Neill, age 82, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 at her home in Charleston, Illinois.

She was born in Harrisburg, Illinois on April 29, 1939 to Charles H. and Juanita Gulley Wroton, who preceded her in death.

She spent most of her life in Whiting, Indiana and in central Illinois.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, the Rev. Reedman and Charlene Vaught of Gallatin, Tennessee; one niece and her companion, Sharla Vaught and David Hill of Franklin, Kentucky; three nephews, the Rev. Jeffrey (Deanna) Vaught of Steinhatchee, Florida, Gene (Eva) Vaught of Greensboro, Georgia and Phil Vaught of Hendersonville, Tennessee; eight great-nephews; four great-nieces; 21 great-great nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

Ms. O'Neill was the niece of the late Ralph (Goldia) Wroton of the Carrier Mills area.

A Celebration of Life service is planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at New Hope Worship Center in Charleston, Illinois, with Pastor Eric Harmon officiating.
