Jeremiah's Kitchen closing its doors Friday

MARION - Marion will lose a popular dining spot at the end of this week when Jeremiah's Kitchen closes its doors.

Owners Jeremiah and Hannah Griesbach made the surprise announcement on the company's Facebook page on Saturday afternoon.

"It is with a mixture of sadness and God's peace that we announce we will be moving on from the restaurant industry. It has become harder for us to split our attention between our family, the church and the restaurant as our family continues to grow and as we seek to do more as pastors and grow the Kingdom of God. We feel that we must make a choice between keeping this restaurant open or following the calling of God upon our lives."

In the same post, the couple also said they were open to seeking someone to take over the business.

"We are looking to find other individuals who would like to continue our menu and commitment to serving you the best products with pride. If you know someone who may be interested in this, please feel free to have them reach out to us."

As of Monday afternoon, Jan. 21 is slated as the final day of operation. The restaurant has been open since 2015.
