Du Quoin area briefs: Classes resume Tuesday in D300

<b>D300 classes to resume Tuesday</b>

District 300 Superintendent Matthew Hickam said Monday that classes will resume in the Du Quoin public schools as expected on Tuesday. Schools were closed on Friday due to the large number of staff that were out with COVID-19. According to Hickam, after the four-day weekend the number of staff and teachers who were set to return to work on Tuesday outnumbered the staff that was calling in sick.

<b>Du Quoin student on Bradley dean's list</b>

Alaina Ridgeway of Du Quoin is one of 1,900 students at Bradley University named to the Fall 2021 dean's list. She is majoring in Game Art. To make the dean's list a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester, on a 4.0 scale.
