Marilyn Landis of Harrisburg
Marilyn J. Landis, age 74 of Harrisburg, passed away at 12:13 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Marilyn was born on May 18, 1947 in Selfridge, North Dakota, to the late Maurice and Marion (Faver) Sandland.
She married David J. Landis, Sr. on March 16, 1965 in Wilmington, California. He survives in Harrisburg.
Marilyn was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Stonefort, where she was very active. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as canning, sewing, humming birds, wind chimes, and flower gardening where she raised roses. She also liked her cows, classic country, particularly Alan Jackson.
She was a feisty lady that loved to cook; she made the best peanut butter fudge.
She also loved to travel and had been to all the contiguous 48 states as well as Germany.
In addition to her husband, David, Marilyn is survived by a son, David J. Landis, Jr. of Harrisburg, four grandchildren, Mariah Landis of Carbondale; Caitlyn Landis of Gainesville, Florida; Logan Landis of Princeton, Indiana; and Erin Landis and wife Molly, of Petersburg, Indiana; six great grandchildren, Tatiana, Jessa, Vallery, Josh, Elijah, and Wesley; brothers, Ray Sandland and wife Patricia of Harrisburg; and Duane Sandland of Wilmington, California; sister, Virginia of Washington State; sisters-in-law, Janet Peavey of Garland, Texas; Sharon Sanders and husband Jerry of Harrisburg; and Darlene Oliver of Roper, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert E. Landis, grandson, Colin G. Landis, and a sister, Gloria.
Funeral services for Marilyn will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
Rev. Don Nelson will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
