<b>Reserve your table for Night at the Races</b>

The Chester Chamber of Commerce will hold its third annual Night at the Races Friday, Jan. 21, at the Chester Country Club. Doors open at 5 p.m.; races start at 6 p.m. Call early to reserve your table for six or eight; cost is $10 per person. Drinks will be available for purchase; bring your own snacks. To reserve a table, call Bruce Luthy at (618) 826-2331 or (618) 615-2372. Make checks payable to Chester Chamber of Commerce.

Event sponsorships are available. Silver race sponsorship costs $50 and includes recognition in the event guide. Gold race sponsorship costs 150 and includes a free table to the event and recognition for your business at the beginning of your race. Sponsorship forms are due by Jan. 10 and should be mailed to Bruce Luthy, 1309 Swanwick St., Chester, IL 62233.

<b>U.S. Army Corps has summer job openings</b>

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kaskaskia River Project is looking for candidates to fill student vacancies for the 2022 summer recreation season. Kaskaskia River Project offers a work opportunity for students pursuing a career in the field of biology, outdoor recreation or natural resource management.

Job openings are available in interpretive services, visitor assistance, facilities/grounds maintenance and environmental stewardship.
