Corinne Maloney Miller, formerly of Ridgway
Corinne Maloney Miller, 88, passed away Oct. 20, 2021, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
On March 28, 1933, Corinne was born in a farmhouse on what is now Maloney Road in Ridgway, Illinois, the fourth of seven children of Daniel Joseph Maloney and Margaret Rose Luckett.
She attended Daily School, St. Vincent Academy in Waverly, Kentucky, and Ridgway High School, graduating as valedictorian in 1951.
Corinne began college at St. Mary-of-the-Woods in Terre Haute, Indiana, and graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a bachelor's degree in 1955 and a master's degree in 1958, both in home economics.
At the University of Illinois, Corinne met Theodore ("Ted") Charles Miller, and they were married in 1959 in Ridgway. Corinne and Ted made their first home in East Greenbush, New York, where they raised three children, and later lived in Reston, Virginia, near their daughter. When she passed away, Corinne and Ted were living in a senior care facility near their son.
Throughout her life, Corinne was the master-keeper of the home and family and was a gifted and energetic gardener, cook, baker and seamstress. She showed her abiding love for her family with the fruits of these labors.
Corinne is survived by her husband, Ted; her sisters, Mary Elizabeth (Charles) Wargel of Equality, Illinois and Frances Ann (John Anthony) Traweek of Tyler, Texas; three children, Timothy Mark (Donna) Miller of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Miller (Thomas) Roesel of Bozman, Maryland and Joseph Daniel (Katherine) Miller of Elmhurst, Illinois; and five grandchildren, Emily Margaret Miller of Houston, Texas; Patrick Gaskell Miller of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Erica Corinne Roesel of Loveland, Ohio; Gretchen Elizabeth Roesel of Kannapolis, North Carolina; and Charles Joseph Miller of Champaign, Illinois.
Corinne's life of faith and love will be celebrated at a funeral mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at Sacred Heart Church, 838 Walnut St., Royersford, Pennsylvania.
