Wabash Christian Village raises money from annual golf scramble
Wabash Christian Village hosted its 7th annual Golf Scramble at Carmi Country Club on Aug. 27, drawing 19 teams and raising money to offset unexpected expenses related to COVID-19 in 2020.
Norris City Methodist Church took first place with David Spence, Dave Gray, Joe Skaggs and Terry Austin rounding out the team. Generous first place sponsors were Ferrell Hospital, First Bank, Wabash General Hospital and Carmi First Christian Church.
Second place, sponsored by Slay's Carpet and Kathy Fridley, was taken by Steve Garrett, Don Garrett, C.H. Allyn and Brad Spence from the Carmi First Christian Church team.
Third place went to Rob Mason, Colton Slover, Curt Sexton and Colby Steele, sponsored by Janice Gates, Yesterday's Drive In, Rush Appliance, Plum Street Pharmacy and Martin & Bayley-Huck's Market.
Wabash Christian Village thanks all the teams, as well as Ferrell Hospital, Little Prairie Christian Church, Wabash General Hospital, First Southern Baptist Norris City, Ronocco Beverage Solutions, Boyd Christian Church, First Bank, Enfield Christian, ACF Resources, Slay's Carpet and a number of individuals.
Jane Brezzette won Closest to Pin, sponsored by Greenwalt & Sons Construction-Wayne City and Town and Country Real Estate.
Longest Drive winners were Joe Skaggs in the seniors category, Chad Buss in the men's category and Tamara Gould in the women's category.
The longest putt award went to Sandra Bryant, who was playing on the Ronocco Beverage Solutions team.
The hole-in-one sponsors were Select Rehab, Hamilton Memorial Hospital, Hale Body Shop and Trident Care.
Individual hole sponsors were Taylor Eye Care, Gholson Funeral Home, Roark Trucking, Norris City Christian Church, Senior Care Pharmacy, Carmi Chamber of Commerce, City of Carmi, Campbell Funeral Home, Dr. Zahid Saqib, Carmi Lumber Company, Rice Motor Company, Mitch's Painting Service, McDonald's and Little Giant Grocery Outlet.
