Michael W. Loos of Pinckneyville

Michael W. Loos, 57, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 9:25 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Michael had been a truck driver and excavator. He was a member of the St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville. Michael was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, American Thresherman Association, Pinckneyville Coon Club and Du Quoin Saddle Club.

He loved his farm, tractors, riding horses, mules and buggy. Michael enjoyed fishing, hiking and camping. He was an avid coon hunter and raised chickens and rabbits. Michael and his wife enjoyed traveling and attending concerts. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Michael was born Jan. 5, 1964 at Sparta, Illinois, the son of Albert and Edith Ann "San" (Hill) Loos.

He married Rose M. (Keene) Miller on Sept. 15, 2012 at Key West, Florida and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Pinckneyville; three daughters, Stephanie M. Loos of Sparta, Kimberly A. Loos (special friend Kelly Eagan) of Ashley, Illinois, and Ashley M. Greer (husband Andrew J.) of Du Quoin; his mother and stepfather, Edith "San" and Raymond Montgomery of Coulterville; four grandsons, Markus R. Clark, Jackson D. Newcomb, Jake D. Newcomb and Ross Greer; one brother, Lawrence (Paulet) Loos of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Katherine (Warren) Gendron of Cutler and Christina (Darrell) West of Dyersburg, Tennessee; mother-in-law, Rose M. Keene of Du Quoin; sister-in-law, Michelle (Kevin) Dudek of Tamaroa; two stepsisters, LaDonna Montgomery Silbe and Lisa Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Wayne and Lillian Hill; paternal grandparents, Albert and Bertha Loos; and his father-in-law, Arthur Ross Keene.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 at the St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, with Fr. Augustine Ibezimako officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church.

Burial will be in the St. Bruno Cemetery at Pinckneyville.

Friends may make memorials to the CV ICU at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, or to Masses. They will be accepted at the funeral home.
