Panther baseball fetes 2021 team

Panther baseball held its awards banquet to honor its outstanding players in the 2021 season.

Head Coach Bill Segelhorst recognized the award winners and accomplishments of the five seniors and their contributions and leadership, which included finishing the season in the regional final game in the 2019 and 2021 seasons, having lost the 2020 year to COVID.

The five seniors have decided their next steps: Wyatt Gale is entering the U.S. Army, Preston Dagner will serve in the U.S. Air Force, Grant Biby, Trent Morgenstern and Reid Keene will play baseball at the college level: Biby to Lincoln Christian University, Morgenstern to Greenville University, and Keene to Southwest Illinois Community College.

Varsity Baseball award winners are: Nile Adcock, Top Batting Average (. 388); Trent Morgenstern, Best Offensive Player and Top Starting Pitcher; Wyatt Gale, Most Improved Player and Top Relief Pitcher; Pearson Launius, Best Defensive Player; and Reid Keene, winner of the Garrett Williams Leadership Award.

JV Award winners are Logan Maxey, Best Offensive Player; Asher Jausel, Best Defensive Player; Riley Mohr, Top Pitcher, Jamison Dudek and Lance Brokering, Leadership Award.

The Panthers got three players on the SIRR Mississippi Division All-Conference first Team: Nile Adcock, Reid Keene, and Trent Morgenstern.
