Marilyn Sue Williams Burnett, formerly of Du Quoin
Marilyn "Sue" Burnett passed away on April 27, 2021 from surgical complications.
Sue was born in 1939 in Du Quoin to Majorie and Arthur Williams. She attended Du Quoin Township High School where she was known as "Queenie."
It was in St. Louis, where Sue worked in a jewelry store, that she met and married John Burnett, a single dad with two sons, Joe and Mitch. Sue fell in love and took a big leap, becoming an instant mom of two boys. The family moved to California in the early 1960s, where a baby girl, Suzanne, was born.
Sue passed away in Riverside, California, and is survived by her sister, Alice Magnotti of Kingsbury, California; her daughter Suzanne (Rob) Broyles; son Mitch Burnett; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joe Burnett; her parents; and her grandparents, Valmer and Jennie Williams and Nicholas and Ada Pritchett of Du Quoin.
