Tammy Chamness of Johnston City

Tammy L. Chamness, 55, of Johnston City, passed away at 5:20 a.m. on Saturday June 26, 2021 in the Herrin Hospital.

Service will be held on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Don Colson officiating. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Tammy was born on May 18, 1966 in Herrin the daughter of Clifton Laverne Robertson and Alice Louise Robertson (Batson).

Tammy worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 11 years. She loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren every chance she got. She enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards.

She is survived by two daughters, Brittiani Gregg and husband Tim of Cambria and Chelsea Chamness of Herrin; 3 grandchildren, Brooklynn Henry, Jayden Gregg and Niko Sky; brothers and sisters, Judy Edwards of Pittsburg, Jackie (Ruth) Maynor of Marion, Toni Anderson of Florida, Wayne Maynor of Florida, and Kenneth Fann of Ziegler; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, Clifton L. Robertson and Alice Louise Robertson (Batson); sister, Rosie, and a niece and nephew; brother, James Maynor; nephew, Chip Maynor; and an unborn child.
