Charles Hammond's works go on display at SIC Art Gallery
SALINE COUNTY - A collection of works donated by Charles Hammond of Eldorado will be on display in the Southeastern Illinois College George T. Dennis Visual and Performing Arts Center Gallery from June 1 through Sept. 19. Admission is free.
"I create these photographs with an open mind and whatever the reaction the viewer has, I will be satisfied," Hammond said.
Hammond taught photography at SIC for many years and has had many shows in the tri-state area. He has also restored and reprinted photographs of historical importance to the area and has been published in various books about the southern Illinois area.
"I feel that my multiple image photographs are a vision quest that blends various selections and ideas into one," said Hammond. "These photographs are made from digital and analog negatives and positives. Various programs and a mixture of digital and analog equipment are used."
A closing reception for this exhibit is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 19 from 1-2 p.m.
