Jerry Wayne Whitlow of Harrisburg

Jerry Wayne Whitlow, age 69, of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:15 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Jerry was born on April 1, 1952 to Francis Lee and Grace (Gowen) Whitlow. He worked at Tyson as a food processor for several years. He loved to work puzzles. He was an avid Cardinal fan and a supporter of the Harrisburg Bulldogs. He was a giver; he would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was very kind. He was very friendly and a hard worker, a loving brother and a friend.

Jerry is survived by his son, Jesse W. Duncan of McLeansboro; grandson, Daniel Duncan of Eldorado; granddaughter, Zoey Lynn Quinn of Norris City; sister, Thelma Tate of Mountain Home, Arkansas; sister, Mary Ruth Brogan of Harrisburg; sister, Joyce Browning of Mount Carmel; brother, Robert Lee Whitlow of Belleville; brother, Charles David Whitlow and wife Brenda of New Athens; brother, James Edward Whitlow and wife Becky of Patton; sister, Darlene Kellum of Madisonville, Kentucky; sister, Wanda Donithan and husband Jeff of Henderson, Kentucky; sister, Lisa Hutcheson and husband Jerry of Dale; sister, Connie Sherrod and husband Scott of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Lee and Grace Whitlow; sister, Judy Gulledge; sister, Linda Whitlow; brother, Buddy Whitlow; brother, Loyd Whitlow; sister, Billie Jo Boyd; sister, Mary Frances Whitlow; and niece, Machaela Sherrod.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2012 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. William Browning will officiate and burial will follow in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Reed Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dorrisville Baptist Church or American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left for the family at his obituary page at www.reedfuneralchapel.com.
