Letter to the editor: Veterans Wall in Perryville worth the trip

To the editor: I would like your readers to know about the Veterans Memorial Wall in Perryville, Missouri. It is a replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C.

In 1968 Jim Eddleman made a promise to himself while serving in the Tet Offensive during the Vietnam Conflict - that he would one day honor his comrades if he made it out alive. He kept his promise, and plans began coming together in 2016.

The grounds have a welcome center and museum. It is still a work in progress. It is very well done in honoring the servicemen and women who served our country.

Please take your family on a short trip to see this memorial. There is no cost to visit. Teachers, this would make a great half-day field trip for your students.
