Top PCHS musicians honored at senior music banquet

Four of Pinckneyville High School's top musicians were honored at the recent Senior Music Banquet hosted by the PCHS Music Association.

Amber Nichols, director of bands, and Kristian Avise-Rouse, choral director, presented the honors to:

Holden Huntley, received the John Philip Sousa award for Outstanding Instrumentalist.

Cameron Hepp, received the National School Choral Award.

Hayley Winter of the Marching Panthers, named Outstanding Bandswoman.

David Wagner of the Marching Panthers, named Outstanding Bandsman.

Scholarship recipients were also recognized:

Daniel Garavaglia won the Kristin Cunningham Memorial Scholarship.

Cameron Hepp won the Pinckneyville Music Association Scholarship.

Daniel Garavaglia, Cameron Hepp and David Wagner all received Music Makers Scholarships.

As part of the banquet program, senior band students Lauren Downard, Daniel Garavaglia, Holden Huntley, Reid Keene, Caleb Martin, David Wagner and Hayley Winter joined directors Nichols and Avise-Rouse to play "Hold On," "American Woman," and "I Want You Back."

Cameron Hepp sang "God Help the Outcasts" from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," and Daniel Garavaglia and David Wagner sang "Agony" from "Into the Woods."
