Brenda (Lind) Hartnett of Harrisburg

Brenda (Lind) Hartnett went to be with the Lord on Oct. 2, 2020. She was taken from us unexpectedly and far too soon.

Brenda was a simple woman with a great faith. She found joy in surrounding herself with family and she was given the ability to make family and strangers alike feel like family. She led a good life, doing what had to be done to provide and was not afraid to put in the work.

But the work she loved most was being a pastor and sharing her faith.

Brenda definitely put in the work when she was asked to reopen the small Baptist church in Okeechobee, Florida; from clearing the overgrown swamp that had overtaken the grounds to holding services any chance she could.

We will grieve, but we will also celebrate her life. She would not want us sad, so we will remember the good days that we gathered together, the reunions held and even the phone calls with her daughter that were held every day just to check in on each other. We will remember the laughs and hang onto the feelings that make us smile when we think of her; and that is what she wanted.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 30 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. The Rev. Wendell Yeary will officiate. Condolences may be left on her obituary page at www.reedfuneralchapel.com.
