Panther archers place 4th in state

The Pinckneyville Community High School archery team placed fourth in the recent virtual state competition.

Teams from across the state completed their "shoot" at their home school and submitted results online that were tabulated at the state level.

Panther Archery Coach and Superintendent Keith Hagene was pleased with the fourth-place finish. Moreover, two archers won individual honors in their division: Senior Savannah Aldridge scored 284/300 for 5th place, and junior Kylie Harvey scored 282/300 for 8th place to lead the Panther scorers.

In the years before the pandemic caused the 2020 competition to be canceled, more than 100 teams would gather at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield to participate in a daylong event.
