Shawneetown celebrates Easter with an egg hunt

SHAWNEETOWN - Shawneetown Public Library and the city of Shawneetown kicked off spring with a townwide Easter egg search on Saturday, March 27.

Ten large eggs were hidden around town, and participants had to find all 10 to be entered into a drawing for Easter basket giveaways.

The library gave away treat bags to all, and the Easter Bunny showed up for photos. There was a large turnout for the event.

"It was so nice to see the kids out and about searching for the eggs and seeing their smiles when they took photos with the Easter Bunny," Librarian Trisha Scates said.

The library wishes to thank Tammy Galt for making the egg signs, Mayor Dave Barker and the city of Shawneetown for donating basket giveaways, Natalie Green and everyone involved that helped make the event a success.
