Sharon Rose Taylor of Tamaroa

Sharon Rose Taylor, 77, of Tamaroa, Illinois, passed away at 12:42 a.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the SIH Memorial Hospital at Carbondale.

Sharon was a CNA at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin, before she retired after several years. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Sharon loved playing bingo and crocheting.

She was born Aug. 10, 1943 at Du Quoin, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Herbert and Becky (Pittman) Williams.

She married Le Roy Taylor on July 7, 1965 at East St. Louis, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 15, 2007.

Sharon is survived by four children, Kim (Richard) Farthing of Tamaroa, Le Roy "Butch" (Stacey) Taylor Jr. of Coulterville, Illinois, Veronica Keys of West Frankfort, Illinois and Gregory (Sandra) Taylor of Richview, Illinois; her companion for 13 years, Don Rohlfs of Tamaroa; four brothers, Leslie Williams of Texas, Charles Pittman of Tamaroa, David Williams of Tamaroa and Mike Taylor of Du Quoin; two sisters, Shirley Galbraith of Tamaroa and Kathy Taylor of Sesser; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Becky Taylor; her father, Charles Williams; and two brothers, Donnie Williams and Roger Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa, with the Rev. Jackie Joe Davison officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask, and asked to use social distancing guidelines.

Burial will be in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends are invited to make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois; they will be accepted at the funeral home.
