PCHS celebrates FFA Week; Du Quoin week starts Monday

As Pinckneyville High School looks back on a successful FFA Week, Du Quoin High School is gearing up for theirs, starting Monday.

At Pinckneyville, FFA members enjoyed limited activities for FFA Week, but maintained a tradition with the annual staff breakfast. FFA members came in early to be the chefs, prepare the bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy and sausage, which they served with fruit, milk and juice for faculty and staff members.

Since the FCCLA Week activities were lost to the snow and ice storm in the previous week, the Pickneyville FFA joined with the FCCLA for a Dress for Future Career Day and included a combined lunch from the grill.

FFA Adviser Austin McAllister and FCCLA Advisers Kim Lietz and Rita Willms worked together for the dual club activity.

Du Quoin FFA Week

Each day of next week, March 15-19, all students at the high school are encouraged to help the FFA Celebrate National FFA Week by dressing up.

On social media platforms (Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram), FFA will host an online scavenger hunt, posting five items each day that relate in some way to the agriculture industry. The first person to find all five items each day will win some FFA merchandise. This is open to everyone - members, alumni, community members, etc.
