Larry L. Wilson of Chester
Larry L. Wilson, 84, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:04 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Chester.
He was born to the late Frank and Wilhelmina (nee Coulson) Wilson on Jan. 31, 1937 in Tilden, Illinois.
Larry married Darla Link on June 11, 1960 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, and she survives.
He was a teacher at Chester Grade School for 27 years.
Larry was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester. He very passionate about baseball and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Wilson of Chester; three children, Tamra (Wayne) Weinhold of Brazeau, Missouri, Scott (Emily) Wilson of Belleville, Illinois and Cheryl Kennedy of Waterloo, Illinois; a sister, Dixie Parker of Belleville; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Curtis, Mary, Samuel, Brenden, Alex, Liam, Katherine and Lauren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, with the Very Reverend Eugene H. Wojcik, V.F., officiating. Inurnment will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Chester.
Visitation will be held at the church for an hour preceding the Mass, from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday.
The church is limited to 50 people in the church at one time. Guests are requested to wear masks and to use social distancing guidelines.
