Michael Hillegas DAR collecting valentines for heroes

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - It is time again to let our veterans know we remember how they sacrificed and served our country.

The Michael Hillegas Chapter is collecting valentines and will be delivering them to individuals, nursing homes, hospitals, etc. If you are interested in participating in this program, the rules are:

• No last names, towns, cities, etc.

• Nothing on outside of envelope

• They can be handmade or purchased

• Short thank you message and your first name

Drop off places will be: Crouches Accounting, 217 Willis Street, Norris City; Shelia Albright, 822 Southern Circle, Norris City; Harrisburg District Library, 2 W. Walnut St., Harrisburg

All valentines will be picked up at locations Feb. 5.
