No injuries in one-car accident at Roots Road
A 2003 Chevy van driven by a Waterloo woman was in a one-car accident Monday morning at Roots Road and State Route 3, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said the van was eastbound on Roots Road a little after 9 a.m. but did not stop at the stop sign for State Route 3. Instead it went through the intersection and then left the road on the east side of Route 3, hitting the ditch/embankment and coming to a rest on its wheels.
Neither the 38-year-old driver nor the 3-year-old passenger were taken to hospital, the sheriff's office said, and no tickets were issued at the time.
No injuries reported after 2-vehicle crash
Two vehicles collided Jan. 4 at State Route 3 and Shawneetown Trail, but neither driver was taken to hospital, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. The accident, which happened about 6 a.m. involved a 2010 Ford pickup truck driven by a 33-year-old Cobden man, who was eastbound on Shawneetown Trail and did not stop at the stop sign for Route 3, authorities said. As he proceeded into the crossing, the truck hit a 2011 Honda going north on Route 3, driven by a 35-year-old Waterloo woman, the sheriff's report said.
After hitting the Honda, the truck crossed Route 3 and hit the ditch on the north side of the Shawneetown Trail and overturned. The Honda came to rest on the west side of State Route 3 about 20 feet north of the intersection. The sheriff's report does not indicate any tickets were issued so far.
