Ralph Dee Funkhouser, formerly of Marion

Ralph Funkhouser of Tremont, formerly of Marion, died Dec. 2, 2020 at home with his family by his side.

He was born Jan. 10, 1946 in Eldorado to Ora Funkhouser and Vivian Thompson-Mayfield.

He married Joyce Davis on April 4, 1970 and she survives. Also surviving is daughter Paula Pedersen; almost-daughter Laura Anne; grandchild Faith Pedersen; six sisters, Elizabeth Funkhouser-Jones, Billie (Robert) Click, Dawn (William) Reynolds, Michelle Mayfield, Denise Burford, and Jennie (Pete) McIntosh; and one brother, Wendell Mayfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, William Mayfield; three brothers, James, Donald, and Henry Funkhouser; and one sister, Reva Yetto-Rauman.

Ralph worked at Olin in Marion, tool & die at Container Staple in Herrin, and he retired from Mitsubishi in Normal in 2006. He enjoyed spending time outside, staying home, and talking with his friends. His family will miss many things about him, especially his common sense, integrity and guidance.

Per Ralph's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Burial will be in Butler National Cemetery near Springfield.
