Du Quoin student wins Bright Future scholarship

Du Quoin student Hayley Vaught was recently surprised with a $3,000 Bright Future Scholarship to Western Governors University.

The scholarship is open to new students who have lost income due to the COVID-19 crisis and are interested in furthering their education as part of their personal recovery plans.

Vaught, a cardiac sonographer for Southern Illinois Heart and Vascular Center in Mt. Vernon, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing from WGU.

She was virtually presented with the scholarship on Nov. 20 by WGU Strategic Partnerships Manager Joe DeJohns.
