Memorial Hospital's Go Red event wins award
Memorial Hospital in Chester recently was recognized with the Award of Merit Special Event for its "Wine & Girl Power - Go Red for Women" event at the Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR) Pinnacle Awards last month.
This is the first time Memorial has submitted a project for the Pinnacle Awards and was honored to receive the Award of Merit for this annual event that has gained popularity over the years.
"Wine and Girl Power - Go Red for Women," was the title of this year's annual event held by Memorial Hospital of Chester to educate women on heart health topics during American Heart Month. The event is hosted as an American Heart Association's Go Red for Women event.
The target audience is woman 30 years and older. The focus of the event is to raise awareness about heart disease in women with an evening of entertainment and education on preventive action they can take now to reduce their risk of heart disease in the future.
The evening includes a heart healthy meal and dessert catered by the Memorial Hospital dietary team, a guest speaker or two, interactive women's health-related booths, prizes, a complimentary wineglass, and wine tasting provided by PRP Wine of St. Louis.
"This event would not be possible with the planning efforts, preparation, and execution from the Memorial Hospital Dietary Team and Administrative Assistant Apryl Bradshaw," said event coordinator, Mariah Bargman.
"When I took over planning the event in 2018 it was nice to know I had seasoned veterans to help guide me with the details."
