VFW dinner supports Relay For Life team

Relay For Life of Randolph County's Team Hey Jude held a benefit fried chicken dinner Sunday, Oct. 11, at the VFW in Chester.

VFW members prepared a meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes with white gravy, slaw, corn, green beans, bread, butter brownie dessert, tea and coffee. Brenda Casten, Elaine Cunningham, Barb Miskle and Carol Holley also pitched in to help keep everything in order.

Attendance prizes included an "extra electric burner," purses, fall decorations, T-shirts, a Crockpot, afghan and Avon products.

Aunt Nette's Kettle Corn and frozen lemonade was there and donated a portion of the money made to Team Hey Jude. Many thanks Kevin and Lynette Holliday.

Look out for another benefit for Relay For Life with the VFW in the near future.
