Perry County sentences for September

Perry County State's Attorney David H. Searby Jr. has announced the following sentences to the Illinois Department of Corrections during the month of September.

Brent H.O. Faucett, 27, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty Sept. 8 to Aggravated Battery, a Class 3 Felony. Faucett was sentenced to five years, with applicable credit for time previously served and with a one-year Mandatory Supervised Release Period. The Perry County Sheriff's Office was responsible for the investigation in the Faucett matter.

Raymond S. Heatherly, 22, of Pinckneyville, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after having admitted to the allegations of a Petition to Revoke Probation for the original offense of Domestic Battery, Class 4 Felony, on Sept. 10, 2020. Heatherly was sentenced to one year in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served and a four-year Mandatory Supervised Release Period. The Pinckneyville Police Department was responsible for the original investigation and arrest in the Heatherly matter.

Kyle F. Martin, 29, of Tamaroa, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after previously admitting to the allegations of a Petition to Revoke Probation for the original offense of Possession of Controlled Substance, a Class 4 Felony. Following a sentencing hearing on Sept. 14. Martin was sentenced to one-year in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served with a one (1) year Mandatory Supervised Release Period. The Du Quoin Police Department was responsible for the original investigation and arrest in the Martin matter.

Shayla M. Heape, 28, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after previously pleading guilty to Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class 3 Felony, and Possession of Methamphetamine a Class 3 Felony, following a sentencing hearing on Sept. 18. Heape was sentenced to a concurrent term of four years and six months in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served, and with a one-year Mandatory Supervised Release Period. The Perry County Drug Task Force, comprised of the Perry County Sheriff's Office, Du Quoin Police Department and Pinckneyville Police Department, was responsible for the investigation as to the Delivery of Controlled Substance charge, and the Du Quoin Police Department was responsible for the investigation and arrest on the Possession of Methamphetamine charge.

Jennifer L. Perez, 45, of Murphysboro, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after admitting to the allegations of a Petition to Revoke for the original offense of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony, on Sept. 25. Perez was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served and a one-year Mandatory Supervised Release Period. The Willisville Police Department, with assistance from the Perry County Sheriff's Office, was responsible for the original investigation and arrest in the Perez matter.

Tod A. Kennison, 47, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections on Sept. 28. after being found guilty of Possession of Methamphetamine, and Unlawful Use or Possession of Weapons by a Felon back in July. Kennison was concurrently sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served, and a one-year Mandatory Supervised Release Period. The Perry County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Du Quoin Police Department, was responsible for the arrest and the investigation in the Kennison matter.

John F. Stock Jr., 55, of Warrenton, Missouri, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty on Sept. 30 to Possession of Controlled Substance, a Class 4 Felony, and Concealment of Death, a Class 4 Felony.

Stock was sentenced to one year on the Possession of Controlled Substance charge and three years on the Concealment of Death charge, with those sentences to run consecutive (with applicable credit for time previously served). Both sentences also carry a one (1) year Mandatory Supervised Release period. The Du Quoin Police Department was responsible for the arrest and investigation in the Possession of Controlled Substance charge, and the Illinois State Police, with additional assistance from the Du Quoin Police Department and the Perry County Sheriff's Office, was responsible for the investigation in the Concealment of Death charge.
