Another 12 COVID-19 cases ID'd over the weekend
The Perry County Health Department has been notified of 12 additional confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, bringing the total positive cases in Perry County to 356 and the current number of active cases to 28.
The patients are in isolation and working with the Perry County Health Department. The latest diagnosed individuals are:
Friday, Sept. 25: One male under the age of 17; one woman in her 30s; a man in his 40s; a man in his 50s and a man and a woman in their 80s.
Saturday, Sept. 26: One woman and one man in their 40s.
Sunday, Sept. 27: A woman in her 30s and a woman in her 50s.
Monday, Sept. 28: A man in his 40s; and a woman in her 50s.
The summary of the 356 confirmed cases are 28 active cases; 312 patients who have recovered and been released from isolation and 16 deaths. There have been 5,567 negative test results in Perry County.
The Perry County Health Department continues to monitor the situation along with the Illinois Department of Public Health, both local hospitals in Perry County and local emergency management authorities.
Nearby, Randolph County has reported 941 cases and 11 deaths; Jackson County has had 1,262 cases and 24 deaths; Washington County has had 216 cases and one death and Franklin County has had 541 cases and three deaths.
Williamson County is reporting 1,406 cases and 45 deaths.
Meanwhile, Perry County has come off the IDPH's list of counties at a "warning status." Perry County has a rate of 80 new cases per 100,000, according to the IDPH, which is still above the target range of 50 per 100,000.
