CHS girls golf: Lady Jackets go 3-2 last week

The Chester High School Lady Jackets were on the road last week to compete at both Marissa and Nashville. For the week the Lady Jackets won three matches and lost two to move to 8-4 for the season.

<b>Ladies win two at Marissa triangle</b>

On Sept. 1, Chester won a triangular match at White Oaks Country Club against Marissa and Valmeyer, with 223 strokes. Valmeyer had 260 and Marissa had no team score.

CHS was again led by Camryn Luthy whose round of 47 (+10), was good enough to win her fourth low-medalist honor of the 2020 season. Freshman Jazzi Merideth finished second for Chester with a score of 56 which was 19 over par.

Sophomore Paige Vasquez had 59 strokes; sophomore Aubrie Medford shot a 61; senior rookie Lauren Soellner had 64; and senior Samantha Eggemeyer shot 69. (+32). With the two wins, CHS was the match champion and improved to 7-2 overall.

<b>Finish 3rd at Marissa quadrangular match</b>

At the Nashville Municipal Golf Course the Lady Jackets finished third, falling to the overall winner Okawville who had a team score of 195 and Nashville who had a team score of 203.

Chester got a win over Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School of Centralia. CORLHS had only three golfers thus was unable to post a team score.

Camryn Luthy led Chester with 50 (+14). Luthy was followed by Paige Vasquez, 54; Aubrie Medford and Jazzi Meredith who each shot 63; Samantha Eggemeyer with 64 and Lauren Soellner with 65.

With the losses against Okawville and Nashville and win over Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School Chester moves to 8-4 after three weeks of golf action in the 2020 season.
