James C. Hardy, formerly of Chester
James (Jim) C. Hardy, 84 years old, of Dickson, Tennessee, passed away on Aug. 20, 2020 after a long illness. He was born Jan. 15, 1936 in Chester, Illinois, son of the late Frank Hardy and the late Lucille (Bean) Hardy. He was married to Judith (Hardt) Hardy, who survives him.
Jim was a devoted military man, spending his entire career in the United States Navy. Upon retiring as LCDR, he made his home in Tennessee. He enjoyed family, football, NASCAR, his many dogs through the years, and could usually "fix anything."
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law John Deleveski of Columbia, Illinois and many aunts and uncles.
Also surviving are his sister, Delores Deleveski of Columbia; his first wife, Carol (McConkey) Hardy of Libertyville, Illinois; two daughters, Carla (Terry) Prisk of Gurnee, Illinois and Gayelynn (Peter) Galgano of Homer Glen, Illinois; two stepchildren, Rebecca Hays of Dickson, Tennessee and Brian (Wendy) Cox of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Friday, Sept. 25 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Columbia, Illinois. For more information, access www.leesmanfuneralhome.com.
