David Scott Boggis, formerly of Pinckneyville
David Scott Boggis, age 57, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020 at VanAyer Manor Nursing Home under the care of hospice in Martin, Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin, Illinois, at a later date.
Mr. Boggis was a dedicated entrepreneur, husband, father, teacher and man of God. Owner and operator of Dealer Assist, Scott serviced many of the top car dealerships in southern Illinois for over a decade.
Prior to working in the private sector, Scott worked as both a teacher and school administrator for many years. As a faithful man of God, Scott touched the lives of many in the area through his life in ministry.
Scott is survived by his wife, Kristine Kennedy Boggis of Martin, Tennessee; three sons, Zac (Sara) Boggis of Gresham, Oregon, and Alex (Tiffany) Boggis and Logan Boggis of Martin, Tennessee; his mother Rozann Rushing Boggis of Pinckneyville; in-laws Gary and Loretta Adcock of Tamaroa; his sister Lea Ann (Mike) Tompkins and nephew Jake of Apopka, Florida; and three grandchildren, Liam, Conor and Fiona Boggis.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, David George Boggis.
Scott was born on Sept. 28, 1962 and raised in Pinckneyville, where he grew up in the District 204 school district before proceeding to Pinckneyville Community High School.
He later received a bachelor's degree in communications from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale.
