Garden club salutes 20-year members with library donation

The Du Quoin Garden Club presented books to the Du Quoin Public Library in honor of Bonnie Wilson and Ruth Showalter for their 20 years of active service to the club.

Library Director Kristina Benson assisted the club with the book choices and the presentation to the library, which followed social distancing guidelines.

The books, "Gardentopia, Design Basics For Creating Beautiful Outdoor Spaces" by Jan Johnson and "The Flower Garden: How To Grow Flowers From Seed" by Clare Foster and Sabrina Ruber are now available to the public to check out and enjoy.

Since most Garden Clubs of Illinois, District VII and local garden club meetings are being postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Du Quoin Garden Club continues to do its best to maintain the community gardens for all to enjoy and to stay in touch with the membership through email, text messages, phone calls and Facebook.
