Glenn P. Sauerwein of Walsh
Glenn P. Sauerwein, 86, of Walsh, Illinois, passed away at 6:08 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020 at his residence.
He was born to the late Joseph and Alma (nee Winkler) Sauerwein on Sept. 6, 1933 in Belleville, Illinois.
Glenn married Estelle (Krupp) Seboldt on Jan. 10, 2003 in Renualt, Illinois; she survives.
He worked as a Security Therapy Aide at Chester Mental Health Center for 20 years. Glenn was also a farmer.
Glenn was a member of St. Mary's Church of Divine Maternity in Ellis Grove, Illinois.
He was a Korean War Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Estelle Sauerwein of Walsh; two sons, Rodney Sauerwein Sr. of New Athens, Illinois and Glenn Sauerwein Jr. of Walsh; two daughters, Debra (Rick) Volner of New Athens and Tamela (Charles) Hubert of Collinsville, Illinois; one sister, Barbara Wood of Moline, Illinois; one brother, Roger Sauerwein of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Loren (Val) Close of Collinsville and Darrell (Nancy) Close of Foley, Alabama; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lorene (Close) Sauerwein; his second wife, Dorothy (Wicoff) Sauerwein; two sons, Daniel and Robert Sauerwein; one grandson, Rodney Sauerwein Jr.; three brothers, Orville, John and Richard Sauerwein; one sister, Joan Hartleb; two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Velma Sauerwein; and two brothers-in-law, Floyd Hartleb and Fred Wood.
A memorial service for Glenn Sauerwein will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020 at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Evansville, Illinois, officiated by Father Larry Lemay.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, at Pechacek Funeral Homes, in Evansville.
The funeral home is limited to 25 people at one time. All guests are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
