Pet of the Week Shy, sweet Marmalade is family-ready

Meet Miss Marmalade. She is a bit shy but is as sweet as her name. She's a 2-year-old (d.o.b. around June 2018) coonhound/foxhound mix that weighs approximately 60 pounds.

She is new to our shelter and was much loved by her momma, but due to COVID-19 her life has been flipped upside down. Her momma knows PCHS will take care of her until her forever is found.

We will update as we get to know her more personally but her momma shared the following information about her:

Miss Marmalade is good with dogs of all sizes, cats and kids (has been around children ages 4-11). She likes to play and can sit, paw (shake) and comes when called. Hasn't spent much time on a leash but once she gets over the initial excitement of going for a walk she does well.

She's housebroken, never had accidents and let's you know she has to go by a quiet whine.

If this sounds like the right girl for your family get in touch with us.

Please know that if you come to meet any of the dogs at our facility, they may be excited to see you and extra active. Many times, this is not a true picture of how they may act in a warm, safe home setting.

We, as volunteers, often take our shelter dogs on home visits and they become calm and act like completely different animals. This pertains to potty habits and demeanor. Please realize that they need a chance to shine out of the shelter setting!
