Perry County sentences
<i>Perry County State's Attorney David H. Searby, Jr., has announced the following sentence to the Illinois Department of Corrections during June 2020.</i>
Matthew T. Stowers, 36, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after having admitted to a petition to revoke probation for the original offense of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony, on June 3, 2020. Stowers was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served, and with a one-year mandatory supervised release period. The Du Quoin Police Department, with assistance from the Perry County Sheriff's Office, was responsible for the original investigation and arrest in the Stowers matter.
Skylar I. Knapp, 21, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after having admitted to a petition to revoke probation for the original offense of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony, on June 29, 2020. Knapp was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served, and with a one-year mandatory supervised release period. The Du Quoin Police Department was responsible for the original investigation and arrest in the Knapp matter.
