COVID cases in Perry County continue leveling off
The number of Perry County coronavirus cases has held steady at 43 this week, and only three of those cases are considered active, according to the most recent news release from the Perry County Health Department.
The last new laboratory confirmed case here was a woman in her 40s, diagnosed last Thursday.
Of the 43 total cases, three are classed as active and 40 patients have recovered and been released from isolation. There have been 0 deaths.
Perry County has also had 757 negative test results.
Nearby, Randolph County's caseload is 276 altogether; nine of which are considered active cases - three in hospital and six recovering at home. Randolph County has had four deaths.
Elsewhere in southern Illinois, Jackson County has reported a total of 302 cases and 11 deaths, while Union County cases now total 170, with 14 deaths.
Jefferson County is holding at 101 cases and 16 deaths. Williamson County has 76 cases with three deaths; Pulaski County had 61 cases; Washington has 20 and Franklin has 12.
Alexander County reports 16 cases; Johnson has 12; Massac and Saline counties report seven apiece; Gallatin, Hamilton and White counties have two each; and Hardin and Pope counties each have one.
Nearer to St. Louis, St. Clair County is reporting 1,314 cases and 94 deaths, while Monroe County has 101 cases and 12 deaths.
